Current Report of Activities Performed
In 2024, Stichting Taste Before You Waste achieved its statutory objective - preventing unnecessary food waste through social awareness - by organizing 57 activities that directly contribute to the general public interest

Core Activities for Public Benefit
Wasteless Wednesday Dinners (29 events) Weekly community meals rescuing and sharing surplus food. These events combined food rescue with cultural programming (local artists, DJs, comedy) and reached 1,015 people while saving 2,175kg of food.
Educational Outreach (7 events) Public education through participation in Groen Markt Marineterrein, Earth Day initiatives (UvA), and educational partnerships. These activities spread awareness about food waste to 245 people and saved 525kg of food.
Catering for Public Benefit (11 events) Sustainable catering services demonstrated scalable food waste reduction for larger groups, saving 825kg of food and reaching 385 people.
Workshops and Monday Meets (4 events) Practical education in food processing, kombucha brewing, and creative use of food scraps, informing 140 people and saving 300kg of food.\
Social Impact 2024
Total reach: 2,030 people directly engaged in food waste awareness
Food rescue: 4,350kg of food diverted from waste streams
Environmental impact: 14.4 tonnes of CO2 emissions prevented
Economic value: €10,875 worth of food rescued
Financing of Public Benefit Activities
These impactful activities were only possible through the generosity of our donors and sponsors who support us in times of need. Their financial contributions enable us to:
Organize weekly community meals on a non-profit basis
Provide educational outreach in educational institutions and public spaces
Offer sustainable catering services to demonstrate our mission
Support and appreciate volunteers for their dedication
The donations and subsidies received in 2024 were directly invested in achieving our statutory objective: preventing food waste through awareness and practical demonstration of alternative food processing.
Geographic Distribution
Activities took place at 14 different locations throughout Amsterdam and surrounding areas, including cultural venues (ACU Utrecht, Ecomama), educational institutions (UvA), and neighborhood locations, reaching a broad public audience.
Use of Resources
All received funds were directly spent on:
Organization of educational events (35 regular programs)
Community outreach and partnerships (9 events)
Volunteer support and appreciation (2 events)
Business partnerships to expand impact (2 events)
Salaries for 2x Paid staff to support the goals of the Foundation
100% of our activities serve the public interest by creating awareness and practical solutions for food waste, made entirely possible by the continued support of our loyal donors.
