2024: A Year of Triumphs
Our 2024 in Amsterdam was marked by significant achievements:
Real Impact: We served more than 1,094 meals and rescued 1,510 kilograms of food. This is food that didn't end up in landfills, thanks to our dedicated team and volunteers.
Community at Its Core:
- Wasteless Wednesday Dinners: This is our flagship event at Dokhuis, offering delicious vegan meals crafted entirely from rescued food.
- Monday Meet-Ups: We built connections and shared food-saving tips at Dokhuis, making desserts and sharing our love for food transformation.
- "Anti-Afval Avond": A special event we hosted, featuring a fermentation workshop with Alon's Pickles, teaching valuable preservation skills.
- Digital Engagement: Our blog shared practical tips (like our "5 Easy Ways To Cut Your Food Waste" guide) and highlighted community initiatives like "worm hotels."
- Beyond the Table: We expanded our reach through catering events, student workshops, and partnerships.
The Power of Partnerships
Collaboration is our secret ingredient. We thrive thanks to:
Local Businesses: Who generously donate their surplus food for our guests.
Partners who share their surplus with us: Who share their expertise with us and our community.
Our International Network: Allowing us to exchange resources and knowledge.
Venue Partners (Dokhuis, Vokomokum): Providing the spaces where we connect with you.
2025: Gearing Up for More
While we typically observe seasonal breaks, our mission continues throughout the year.
Plantage Doklaan 8 (Amsterdam): Our main hub, where we host our weekly Wasteless Wednesdays.

A Growing Global Movement
We're proud to be part of a larger, crucial trend. 2025 will see an increasing global focus on combating food waste. This change is driven by:
The urgent need to address the environmental impact of food waste.
Exciting technological advancements in waste reduction.
Growing consumer awareness and a desire for change.
The hospitality industry's role in food waste is also a growing concern.
Food industry giants eliminating trans fats.
The Role of Education and Awareness
Education plays a pivotal role in changing behaviors. Through workshops and community initiatives, we are committed to spreading the word. We teach people not just how to reduce food waste but also why it matters. Understanding the environmental and social implications of food waste can motivate individuals and businesses to take action.
We believe in the ripple effect. When one person learns to manage their food waste better, they can influence friends and family. This chain reaction is essential for broader change.
Be a Food Hero! Join the Movement
We invite you to join us in making a difference! Here's how you can get involved:
