Hello, food heroes! Today, we'll share three delectable recipes with you! Three different types of mug-cakes that are incredibly easy to make; we don't need many ingredients, and the end result is fantastic!

Peanut butter and jam mug-cake

If you like sweet snacks, this is your dessert. This mug cake is going to be your favorite pudding!


  • 2 Tbsp (17 g) of flour (any type is fine!)

  • ¼ tsp baking powder

  • 1 pinch salt

  • 2 Tbsp (30 mL) peanut butter

  • 1½ Tbsp (22 mL) plant based milk

  • ½ tsp pure vanilla extract (optional)

  • 2 Tbsp (40 g) berry chia jam (or any kind of jam)

  1. In a large microwavable mug, mix the following ingredients: the flour, baking powder, and salt. Then add the peanut butter, the vegetable milk, and the vanilla extract. If you don’t have vanilla extract, don’t worry! You can use cinnamon instead.

  2. Now it’s time to add the jam! Don’t overmix it; just add the jam, and spin the spoon 3 or 4 times. Microwave on high (900 W) for 2:30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean! Every microwave is different, so use the toothpick trick!

  3. Let the mug cake cool down for 2–3 minutes, and then eat it! Mmmm, it's delicious.

Banana bread mug-cake

Our favorite one! Ohhh! Why is it so good? I could eat that mug-cake every day! A great recipe for when you have ripe bananas in your kitchen and don't know what to do with them. Don’t worry, you can use them!


  • 1 ripe banana

  • 1 Tbsp (15 mL) plant based milk

  • 1 Tbsp (15 mL) oil

  • 1 pinch salt

  • 3 Tbsp (26 g) flour

  • 1 Tbsp (14 g) sugar

  • 1 Tbsp (9 g) vegan chocolate

  • ¼ tsp baking powder

  1. Get a microwave-safe mug and mash the banana with a fork. When the banana is completely mashed you can add the milk, the oil and the pinch of salt, then mix it.

  2. Once it’s mixed you are going to add the flour, the sugar, the chocolate and the baking powder! Mix it again with a spoon. In this step, I like to put even more chocolate and find these chunky pieces of chocolate in my mug cake, but feel free to don’t do it if you don’t really love chocolate.

  3. We are going to put the mug-cake in our microwave for two minutes or until the toothpick comes out clean. Enjoy this delightful dessert / snack! It’s out of this world!

Chocolate mug-cake

If you love chocolate, this one is made for you! Not only does it have pieces of chocolate but the dough is made with cocoa powder that gives us this amazing chocolate color and taste. Terrific!


2 Tbsp (17 g) flour

2 Tbsp (13 g) cocoa powder

2 Tbsp (28 g) sugar

¼ tsp baking powder

1 pinch salt

3 Tbsp (45 mL) plant based milk

1 Tbsp (15 mL) oil

0.7 oz (20 g) vegan chocolate

  1. In a mug, mix together the flour, cocoa powder, sugar, baking powder, and salt. Then add the milk, oil, and vanilla. Mix evenly until combined.

  2. With your fingers, you are going to put the chocolate into the middle of the cake batter. This way you are going to have some melted chocolate in the center of your mug-cake.

  3. Microwave on high (900 W) for 2-3 minutes or use the toothpick trick again!
